Hamburg, Germany

Morning in Kiel, there were 5 of us and only 4 couches to sleep on, so I took one for the team and slept on the tiny love seat. Maybe not the worst sleep of my life - but pretty damn close.

Having breakfast with our new friend Mozart

since we only had to head back to Hamburg we had loads of time to goof off. It was Sunday after all :)

found a beach - Hi East Sea!

Typical German greeting of 2 men on a beach

I desperately need a shower and some make up

sweet this place had Mini-Golf!!! We learned that German mini-golf is kind of standardized so every course is very similar and there are no elaborate courses. No Castle fun park Jungle style or Under the Sea.
Also, you aren't allowed to step on the course which is why I'm standing like this

HOLE IN ONE

Dima totally kicked all our asses

I've really stepped up my game in the snack van

We got back to Hamburg a bit early so we stopped by Roberts to hang out with Pigor his fantastic cat....and shower

we got to pick out a slide for our background

Astra Stube - like playing in someone's livingroom

dinner with Dave and Eike - apparently Dave is really stressed about what to order

oh god how I love good pasta, even in Germany they do Italian food right

after dinner inspiration

It was sooo great to see Dave and Eike, thanks dudes sooooo much for coming to hang out after a long day of returning a van.
This is also the best photo of Dave Laney ever taken apparently :)

Bobby and I have joined Kid Ikarus

blurry friends

so the bartender draws bands while they play at Astra Stube and does an amazing job of it too - she doesn't draw faces though which is why we look like mice or something but still for a sketch inbetween serving drinks it's way impressive

this is Conrad multitasking

German Dance Party Bobby

Hamburg felt like home for some reason. Maybe because we had just been there 2 days before on our day off, maybe because Dave Laney was there, or maybe because Hamburg is a rad fucking city. I also met a Canadian girl who is also a drummer at the show - small, small world.
It was a really good show, great food and awesome friends, I hope I get to see Eike, Robert and Annika again soon.

Kiel, Germany

After such a wonderful day off in Hamburg we headed to Kiel which was only an hour and a half away - so we had plenty of time to hang out

I'm getting used to delicious coffee every morning - this restaurant was called Bedford so Bobby liked it

Then we hit up a crazy busy flea market - I wanted to buy so many things that we just not possible to take with me around Europe for the next 3 weeks and then fly home with. Especially this awesome old typewritter

Also awesome, but not photoed, were these old test tubes and beakers and graduated cylinders I thought they would make rad flower pots or spice jars or something

Hamburg friends came to hang out in the morning too - yay

this water is also adorable

Conrad eating the Cobra - yum

I love having time to kill when on tour - we got to do Bobby and I's favorite activity - CANOEING!!!

Team Discovery Channel

Team Fish Killers - not shown: Bobby because they had to dock so he could jump out and go pee

we got tangled up in a willow tree

"I'm going to give you the keys to the Lamborghini"

this is not a giant beer - this is a giant beer with lemonade in it YUM!

I'm so happy to see that this crosses international boarders

group photo with Robert, Conrad, Myself and Annika

"Got me on my knee's Laila" This dog got very upset when Bobby stopped petting it

medium salads were more like extra larges

Conrad playing in Kiel to about a handful of people who were stoked and a handful of people who just wanted to sit and enjoy a beer - I joined him onstage for a song and attempted to sing in German and then pretended to be a dinosaur

awesome wallpaper at Prinz Willy's - this place was the best decorated venue yet

This is where I played a keyboard - it felt like I was in someone's livingroom

So after the show we cleaned up a bit, then Willy, Laila and the other girl locked up and went home and left us to our divices in a closed cafe. Almost living the dream of being locked in over night in a mall.

Day Off - Hamburg, Germany

By the time we left Charlie's Bar it was well after 2 and I think Dima was still buzzed off the 5 red bulls he drank during the drive from Oslo to Kristiansand. Regardless of the reasons we got back to the hotel late and were full of energy and lots of giggles. Totally forgot that there would be other people in the rooms around us and I think we pissed off a lot of people on the 3rd floor. Sorry to anyone who stayed at 1-2-3 Hotel in Kristiansand on May 21st

we also had to be at the ferry by 7am so we woke up at 6 so we could get ready, eat breakfast and make it in time - luckily we scored some awesome spots on the ferry

all in all it was a 10 hour travel day - and I slept through most of it. Bobby said "you're teleporting all over Europe today" and it was true. Fell asleep in Kristiansand, woke up in Hamburg!
Ate some vegetarian dinner then Conrad's friends took us to the best place for ice cream in all of Germany

Ice Cream Club - seriously, this ice cream was fucking incredible

so this photo needs some explaining. We were walking through Hamburg, eating ice cream and I guess Bobby finished his ice cream first and went to throw the cup away, opened this garbage can and screamed like a little girl. The fish head scared the shit outta him - it was soooo funny

the harbour

Conrad and Bobby hanging out in Hamburg

walking tour through the Red Light District - we didn't get to go to the Men's Only part that Dima was stoked on, maybe Sunday when we're back in Hamburg

I imagine that in English this sign says "this is the first bar the Beatles played"

Wall Art Eveyrwhere

inside Fundbureau - punk rock love

Pit er Pat - sans Rob D - but actually all new songs and it sounded fucking awesome

stoked to see Butchie and Faye!!!!

This was a great day off, and I think the last one we've got, so we made the most of it by seeing friends and eating ice cream :)
Only people we didn't get to see was Dave and Eike so hopefully on Sunday we'll all get to hang out
